PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION includes : Construction Management and Construction Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Project Management Organization, Contractual Relationships Quality Management, Factors Influencing Design/Engineering and Construction Quality, Construction Project Delivery Systems including  Management Methods for Planning, Designing/Engineering and Building Projects, Company and Project Organizations, Estimating and Cost Control including Project Financing and Control, Integrated Productivity and Quality Management, Energy Efficiency and Codes for Buildings, and C & D Waste Management including Environmental Impacts. He has written numerous articles and two books in these areas.


POSITIONS:  He has taught at Texas Southern University (Sept. 1977 - May 1979), Texas A & M University (Aug. 1979-July 1980, Sept. 1983 -Aug. 1988), University of Texas at Austin (Summer 1983), University of Kansas (Aug. 1980 - May 1983), and University of Florida (Jan. 7, 1991 to May 15, 2005). He is a Professor Emeritus of the M. E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.


SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE & POSITIOINS

Dr. Kwaku Tenah was born into a Christian home to Abraham Kwame Adu and Sarah Tenah. He received his elementary and high school education in the Methodist and the Seventh-Day Adventist Schools, respectively. He joined the Church of the Lord (Aladura) in 1970. He was born again according to the scriptures in September 1976 and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in June 1977. He was called into the Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ in December 1979, a month after being united into a holy matrimony with Sis. Doris Jean Tenah to which union God has blessed with a son (Abraham). a daughter (Lydia), a daughter-in-law (Celbrica Elizabeth) and two grand children (Isaiah John and Anna Elizabeth).


He was appointed the President of the International Youth Department in December 1979. He started his early ministry under now Bishop M. C. Williams. He was ordained in the S. D. James Evangelistic Association, Inc. in December 1980. He moved to Kansas in August 1980, where he fellowshipped with the United Pentecostal Church, the Pentecostal Assemblies of World and the Churches of God In Christ in the Lawrence, KS area. He was called to the office of a Pastor in 1981. He returned to Texas in May 1983 as a Co-Pastor with Pastor W. R. Kent at the Crockett EPC where he worked for three and half years.   He has been the Pastor of Lighthouse EPC since August 1988.


He was ordained a Bishop in December 1991 and was appointed Jurisdictional Prelate for South-Eastern USA couple of years later. He was a Volunteer Chaplain at Shands at Alachua General from 2004 to 2009. He is a member of the Pineridge Community Program, a division of the Gainesville Police Department’s Black Crime Task Force (2010-present). He has held various positions in the S.D. James Evangelistic Association, Inc. and its Evangelistic Pentecostal Churches (Worldwide), Inc. He is a son of God who loves God and His children. Whatever it takes to get God’s business done, he is willing and ready to do it.
